Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard, born 20 June 1978, is a key man in the England National Football team. Playing in the midfield he is the link between the defense and the offence and also scores quite a few goals. In fact, he is the 5th all time leading goal scorer for Chelsea – the English Premiership club that he currently plays for.

After failing to impress in the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Frank Lampard, at 31, has one last chance to make a splash at a World Cup final. That chance will come around next year, in 2010, in South Africa. Lampard definitely has the ability to impress and to influence any game that he plays in. He has played 76 times for England and has scored 21 goals but, as a midfielder, it is his ability to create goals and put the striker into space that is his most important quality. And this quality he has in abundance.

Lampard has grown to prominence playing for Chelsea Football club where he made his debut on 19 August 2001. He has been playing for Chelsea since then and has made 442 (297 league) appearances for them and has scored 136 (87 league) goals. During this time he won two League medals and two FA Cup medals.

Expect Frank to make a big impression on the 2010 World Cup.
