Andres Iniesta Lujan is a Spanish international footballer, born on May 11, 1984, in Fuentealbilla, Spain. Iniesta plays for the La Liga club Barcelona football club and the Spanish national football team as a midfielder.
Iniesta started playing his football at the age of just 12 at the local club Albacete Balompie in 1994. After two years Iniesta joined the Barcelona youth academy and on Oct 29, 2002, Louis Van Gaal handed him his debut in the UEFA Champions League game against Club Brugge KV. Intiesta made 11 appearances in the league’s 2003-04 season, mostly as a replacement for Camp Nou favourite Ronaldinho. Iniesta has won countless titles for Barcelona football club throughout in his career, scoring 24 goals in 234 appearances in all the competitions, winning the Spanish League four times, the Spanish Cup once, the Spanish Supercup four times, and the UEFA Champions League twice in 2006 and 2009, and the UEFA Super Cup in 2009. He is an important figure in the mid-field area and a regular performer and an assister for Barcelona. He is under contract with Barcelona until 2015.

In the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Iniesta played a historic role by drawing the only winning goal in the final against the Netherlands in the extra-time to win the first World Cup for Spain.
