Making 19 appearances for them before moving to Valencia in 2005-2006 Enrique failed to make a single appearance for Valencia and spent much of the year on loan at Celta Vigo before moving to Spanish and La Liga football club Villareal. Where he stayed for 1 year and played 23 times before finally moving to English football club Newcastle United. He played a vital role for Newcastle’s Promotion back into the Premier League after having an exceptional season in The Championship for them in the 2009-2010 season. After Newcastle’s relegation in May 2009 many clubs approached him but he refused to leave stating his love for the club and city and saying he would help them back into the Premier League.
