Mallorca football club plays home games at Son Moix stadium, having a capacity of 24,000 spectators and located in Palma de Mallorca. The stadium was established in June 1999.The Club plays home in red jerseys and black shorts.

RCD Mallorca football club is the oldest club in Balearic Island, formed by an engineer, Adolfo Vazquez, who named the club Junta Directiva del Alfonso XIII FBC. “Buenos Aires” was the first stadium inaugurated on March 25, 1916, where they played Barcelona football club and defeated them by 8-0. A year later, the club changed its name to Real Sociedad Alfonso XIII until 1931, when they finally changed the name to “Club Deportivo Mallorca” due to some political reasons.

On November 19, 2009, Marti-Mingarro family sold the club to the Spanish businessman Mateo Alemany. In May 2010, the club faced the financial debts estimated between £42.5m and £51.3m, and it was purchased by the Spanish International Tennis player Rafael Nadal in July 2010. However, due to the poor financial situation at the club, the UEFA decided on July 22, 2010, against granting Mallorca football club the license to play in the 2010/2011 UEFA Europa League. Despite the financial struggle and heavy pressure, Mallorca football club is enjoying its longest stay in the La Liga, and the 2010/11 season will be their 14th consecutive season in the La Liga.

Mallorca football club, well known as the Los Bermellones (the Vermillions), won their first Copa del Rey in 2003. The club has a strong history with 20 seasons played in Premiera Division, 29 in Segunda Division, 2 in Segunda Division B and 11 in Tercera Division.
