FC Zenit Saint Petersburg football club is a Russian international league football team located in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The club was founded in 1925, plays in the top-flight “Russian premier League” table for 2011/12 season. Zenith St. Petersburg football club plays home games at “Petrovsky” stadium, having capacity of 22,025 spectators.

FC Zenit Saint Peterburg, well known as the “Sine-Belo-Golubye (Blue-White-Light blue)”, “Bomzhi (homeless, bums), “meshki (bags, sacks)”, plays home games in light blue jersey with light blue shorts and away games in white jersey with white shorts. Nike is the kit sponsor of FC Zenit.

FC Zenit is regarded as one of the most successful teams in Russia, widely recognized for their amazing performances given over the past few years.  The football team, Zenit, stepped into the football world out of several teams, which changed names and owners many times during the Soviet era. The origin of Zenit football club begins with the 20th century. After changing several names and owners during the time of 1914 till 1938, finally FC Zenit was ordered to take in members of the “Stalinets (the predecessor team of Zenit)” metallurgical worker’s team after the end of the 1939 season.

FC Zenit have won countless competitions in the history of club’s football. The biggest wins came into the year of 2008 when the club lifted the first ever UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup trophy in a same year. FC Zenit are two times winner of Russian Premier League, 2 time winners of Russian Cup, one time winner of Russian Premier League Cup, two times winner of Russian Super Cup, one time winner of Soviet Top League, one time winner of Soviet Cup and one time winners the Soviet Super Cup.

FC Zenit are currently managed by Luciano Spalleti and owned by Gazprom.
