Top ten players of Real Racing Santander football club

Markus-Rosenberg of Real Racing Santander FC

Last season Racing Santander football club finished 16th on the La Liga table, just two spaces away from the relegation zone. Current 2010-11 on-going season is the same for Racing Santander as they are just four points away to Almeria Football Club from avoiding the relegation zone and situated on 16th position on the La Liga table. This is all done because of the movement of Spanish youngster Sergio Canales who made a move to Real Madrid football club this season, and without him there’s only a little hope to survive this season.

There are still many options for the Racing Santander football club to bring few changes in the squad by buying some new regular goal scorers like Mohammad Tchite, who scored 11 goals last season which is an impressive stat for a forward on a lower table team.  The 27 year old Belgian-Burundian footballer can also be bought on a low price as the team is not doing well in the La Liga standings.

Since beginning his career at the ripe old age of 13, Gianluigi Buffon has steadily climbed the ranks of the “who’s who” among great goalkeepers. From his professional career with the Italian club Juventus to being an integral part of the Italian National Team, Buffon has consistently come through for his teammates, saving goals and saving games, keeping their chances alive.

He has been called the “best Italian goalkeeper ever.” Some refer to him as the greatest goalie in the game today. Soccer super-great, Pele event stated that Gianluigi Buffon was one of the greatest living footballers in the world. As for Buffon, he prefers to make his statement on the field and in front of the goal.

Perhaps the highlight of Buffon’s career, to date, came during the 2006 FIFA World Cup when he allowed just two goals and managed to keep five sheets clean. This was in addition to managing an almost unbelievable 453 scoreless minutes of play. Buffon received the Yashon award for contributions in the series.

While the are almost too numerous to mention, some of Buffon’s more outstanding personal career accomplishments include:

• Best Goalkeeper (IFFHS) 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007
• European Silver Ball (Footballer of the Year) 2006

• Team of The Year (UEFA) 2003, 2004 and 2006

Also, in 2006, he and a few of his fellow teammates were implicated a betting scheme. Eventually all of the players were cleared. Still, for a while his career with Juventus was on shaky ground, but after his 2006 World Cup performance, they elected to give him another shot. His current contract won’t expire until 2012.

Chile Football Team – Profile

in FIFA, Football teams

Qualification in the 1998 world cup and bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympic seemed to mark the resurgence of the Chile Football team, but they proved it wrong and failed to qualify for the big tournaments in the recent times. To prove the circle of pass and fail, they again succeeded to mark their presence in 2010 world cup by ending at the second position after Brazil in South American countries. They ended up even before Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. In the 2002 Japan/Korea world cup they ended up at the rock bottom in 10 teams’ group and though improved in 2006 Germany world cup qualifier, it was not enough to get a birth.

In the 2010 world cup qualifiers, they beat Argentina in the second league and drawn their matches with big gun Uruguay. They were successful to beat Paraguay that also qualified for the tournament. The experience of coach Bielsa knew everything about FIFA world cup qualifying in Southern America after he helped Argentina to reach in 2006 world cup. He also helped the Chile the same way as the combination of his experience and young leadership of Humberto Suzao made the history after twelve years to enter into the 2010 world cup. They will surely fancy their chances to at least reach to the next level.

The Brazilian National Football Team

by on December 27, 2009
in FIFA, Football teams

The Brazilians are the most successful international football team in the world. This claim is backed up by the fact that they have won the FIFA World Cup a record five times (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002), the Copa America, eight times and the Confederations Cup, three times. They are also the only international team that have play in all 18 of the World Cups that have been held. They have also qualified for the 2010 World Cup that is being held in South Africa and, as hosts, they automatically qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Although current ranked 2nd in the world behind Spain, Brazil are still in most people minds the favourites to win the World Cup in 2010. With fantastic players like Julio Cesar (Internazionale), Lucio (Internazionale), Juan (Roma), Kaka (Real Madrid), Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos) and Robinho (Manchester City) it is very hard to argue that they are the favourites.

Other players that have to be considered are Adriano (Flamengo) and Hulk, the aptly named striker who currently plays for Porto. There is also Ronaldinho, one of the most gifted players of his generation. Although Ronaldinho is currently experiencing a dip in form, there is still plenty of time for him to find his form and force his way into the World Cup squad.

As with every World Cup, watch out for Brazil. As is commonly said about Brazil … “The English invented it, the Brazilian perfected it.”
