Sebastian-Kehl-of Dortmund football club A club with a rich a diverse history, Borussia Dortmund Football Club or BVB as it is often referred too, has had a few exceptional players who have led this club to a handful of trophies at the national and European level.

A legend at the club who played relatively recently with Borussia Dortmund FC is Matthias Sammer who played with BVB from (1993-1998). He proved to be pivotal for them and not only helped them win the Bundesliga titles in 1995 and 1996, it was his supreme performance that helped them win the UEFA Champions league in 1997. He was nominated as the European player of the year in 1996 as well.

Manni Burgsmuller is another name that strikes our minds when we talk about inspirational players at BVB. His addition into the side 1977 did not mean a lot of trophies but did ensure a strong finish in the Bundesliga every year. Manni was a sublime striker who played for the club in a total of 224 games and scored a phenomenal 135 goals in a course of 6 years.

Friedhelm Konietzka was a prolific scorer who also happened to score the first goal in the german Bundesliga for the Borussia Dortmund Football Club. His deadly finishing skills inside the box made him an imperative member of the starting eleven and he eventually helped the club win the German national championship just before the introduction of the Bundesliga in 1963.

The current BVB squad has some inspirational players that are holding the side together; The club captain Sebestian Kehl is a very good defensive mid fielder and has played an important role for the club over the years. With a good youth program in place, Borussia Dortmund FC are bound to produce many great players down the lane.
